1. Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, phone number (used for WhatsApp notifications).
- Course data: enrollments, progress, quiz scores, certificates.
- Usage data: login times, pages visited, device and IP information.
Mobile App–Specific Data (Google Play Requirement)
- Device information: device model, operating system version, app version.
- App activity: screens viewed, interactions, time spent in the app.
- Crash logs & diagnostics: performance data used to fix bugs and improve stability.
- Notification tokens: for sending push notifications.
- File uploads: assignments or documents you upload inside the app.
This data may be collected through WPLMS mobile app components or third-party SDKs such as Firebase.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to provide and improve our services, including:
- Deliver course content and learning materials.
- Send course-related notifications via WhatsApp (enrollment confirmations, reminders, results, etc.).
- Provide support, troubleshoot issues, and respond to requests.
- Improve the app’s performance, stability, and user experience.
- Monitor usage patterns through analytics (non-personalized).
3. WhatsApp Messaging
We use Meta’s WhatsApp Cloud API to send messages. Messages are sent only to users who have registered a phone number with their account and given consent to receive messages. We use approved message templates for notifications sent outside the WhatsApp 24-hour messaging window. Meta/WhatsApp may also process message data according to their policies.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:
- Service providers (e.g., hosting, payment processors, analytics) who process data on our behalf.
- Meta (Facebook) and WhatsApp as required for delivering WhatsApp messages via the Cloud API.
- Google services (such as Firebase) for analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications.
5. App Permissions (Google Play Requirement)
The Aalim LMS Mobile App may request the following permissions depending on features:
- Internet access: required for accessing course content and syncing data.
- Push notifications: to receive important course updates and alerts.
- Storage access: to upload or download course materials or assignments.
- Camera access (if used): for profile photo or scanning features.
Permissions are used strictly for the functionality they are requested for.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, legal compliance, and fraud prevention. You can request deletion at any time (see Data Deletion Instructions page).
7. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (TLS/HTTPS, encrypted storage where applicable, access controls) to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. In-App Purchases (If Applicable)
If the mobile app offers in-app purchases or paid subscriptions, payments are processed securely through Google Play Billing. We do not store or have access to your credit card or banking information.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our platform and mobile app are not directed to children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child's data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.
